Boudoir Portrait Photography // Jemma
Boudoir photographer in Leicester / Leicestershire
I adore boudoir portrait sessions, it’s such a great feeling when you have a woman who is nervous and conscious about herself and body come into my studio and then walk out after the session feeling great – that feeling is amazing! Even more amazing when they come back to view their images from the portrait session and cannot believe that it’s them. Who else is it going to be?! For these sessions, I do minimal editing, so I leave my client’s skin ALONE! The whole purpose of a boudoir portrait session is for the woman to feel amazing in her own skin if I edit her skin I’m making her someone she isn’t. It’s about making women feel great in their own skin, giving them their confidence back, showing them that others (like myself) see them as beautiful and showing them in portraits that they are.
When I get clients book in for a boudoir session, they can have their hair and make-up done professionally however I do like my clients to look and feel as natural as possible because that’s the whole idea. I don’t want my clients to be caked with a tonne of makeup that they wouldn’t normally wear and not recognise themselves when they look at the images, as I said before the idea is to feel and look absolutely beautiful as you are.
I was super excited when I had Jemma booked in my diary for a boudoir session. Jemma is a makeup artist who I highly recommend for any makeup occassion. Jemma’s makeup is always amazing, she is so beautiful yet she doesn’t feel it. The photo session itself was just brilliant, Jemma put all her faith in me which I’m so glad she did. I could not wait to start editing Jemma’s portraits for her to see how she looks and see just how beautiful she is. After the session we booked in a time for her to come back to see her images, the reaction she gave was so amazing, I was actually completely gobsmacked at how gobsmacked she was. I told her that I hadn’t edited her skin, the only thing that was editing is the background and lighting, to which she could not believe. I mean why? It’s you!
I guess when we look at ourselves it’s a lot different angle to what others see and when you have portraits taken on a bed for example again it’s a different angle; you can’t see how beautiful you are yourself from that direction but others (like myself) can.
Stay beautiful Check out Jemma’s stunning portraits. Don’t be jealous, you can have stunning portraits too … I would love to get you booked in, valentines day is also approaching, why not book in as a gift not only to yourself but for your partner too?
Looking forward to seeing you soon! Sophie, x
