The Wedding of Naomi & Tom
Naomi & Tom’s wedding day was awesome! Absolutely gorgeous, the whole day.
The day started out with getting hair and make-up done at the brides house in the morning; mum, bridesmaid and flower girls as well as the bride. A nice full house all getting ready for a beautiful wedding. I was very surprised at just how relaxed the household was in the morning, after hair and make-up was done on everyone we headed over to the venue – Prestwold Hall, Loughborough. Prestwold Hall is a stunning venue for any wedding. We made our way to the bridal suite to finish off getting ready, the brides dress, shoes etc was already at the venue.
I got to Prestwold Hall to finish off the bride getting ready images, the shoes, the dress, putting on the wedding dress etc as well as all the details of the tables and the cake … which was really tall! And beautiful. Everyone was still very relaxed whilst getting ready, the rooms were gorgeous, beautifully designed too. The venue had stunning gardens, such a lovely and peaceful view. In the main lobby of Prestwold Hall there was a huge fire, which was lovely to be greeted by on a cold day winters day. As it was a winter wedding, we actually was very lucky with the weather as it was dry most of the day, no snow or rain at all. It was just quite cold, which for me wasn’t so bad as I was running around but for everyone else in wedding outfits it wasn’t the best.
As you can see the getting ready was pretty awesome!! Did you see the shoes? They’re gorgeous right? The shoes also flashed all around 🙂 just a dream!
The main dining room was decorated just beautifully, simple yet beautiful. As well as a really tall wedding cake.
The wedding ceremony itself was just lovely, funny at times when Tom couldn’t get his words out but he got there in the end. It did give everyone a laugh though, which is always nice at weddings – not so serious.
As the brides side was part Scottish, the couple had a bagpipes player playing down the isle before the bride walked down. Not only did he play in the ceremony but he played outside whilst the guests were arriving.
After the wedding ceremony, we went outside in the cold for some group photos. As it was still winter and the nights were still drawing in early after the group shots I let everyone go inside and I did portraits of just the bride and groom. A little bit of personal time away for them before dinner, though we did have to hurry up because they wanted to seat everyone and serve the dinner. Prestwold Hall has the best venison wellington, their main course is one of my favourite dinners so I do love it when I have a wedding their to photograph because I get to enjoy their delicious food.
After food, there isn’t much to the speeches, just a short and simple ”thank you for coming” etc. We then cut the really tall wedding cake, and soon after the bride and groom had a wonderful first dance 🙂
What an absolutely amazing day
🙂
Such a joy to be apart of and capture it perfectly for them.
See you next time,
Sophie, x
