The wedding of Carla & Nathan – what a beautiful wedding day it was!
Now usually on all of my weddings when I walk into the house where the beautiful bride is getting ready, the bride is actually sitting down having her hair or make-up started …. well this was NOT the case when I walked into Carla’s mothers home. I walked through into the kitchen where the hair was being done and everyone was gathered, the hairdresser was in fact my bride! I did have an attempt at telling her off but she insisted it helped to keep her calm. Carla had the girls from the hair salon that she owns to help and of course so they can do her hair, you can take a look at her Facebook page, link at the bottom.
The morning getting ready was actually nice and chilled, everyone was chatting, listening to music and enjoying a drink 🙂 I managed to photograph everything quite quickly as it was all downstairs awaiting for me to grab them. My bride was super organised … just in case you couldn’t already tell!
As soon as everyone was ready I headed over to the venue so I could beat the bride of course and do some images of the groom and groomsmen. When I got there the groom looked quite nervous, after a few drinks though he did loosen up and he especially seemed better when his wife to be was walking down that isle to him. The ceremony itself went well and quite quick when the actual wedding ceremony had finished everyone went into the chapel so the bride and groom could have their blessing. We then headed outside for group photos. The sun decided to come out … which was lovely. The group shots were also done quite quick(ish). Nathan has two sons, both of which are autistic. When I have a consultation with my bride and grooms I always want to know more about the family for this reason. Luckily I have a brother who is autistic so I can relate to them and understand exactly how to talk to them as well as understanding what they might not like. As soon as I got to Rothley Court, Leicestershire; to meet the groomsmen, I spoken to the lads and asked them if they’d do a special job for me later on – which they enjoyed being a part of. Their special job was to set off the confetti cannons at the group shots. When all the group photos were done, it was food time! Speeches came shortly after, which were lovely to hear 🙂 but also got emotional for the mother of the bride and bride.
After food, I always take my bride and groom outside for their personal photos. This is one of the only times that they have together, just them ……. and me. At this point I don’t allow anyone else with us, the reason being is they have me their to take their gorgeous wedding photos and not only that, they don’t need guests there talking to them whilst their having a moment together – no offence but at this point they’ve seen enough of you ;P once these images are done, generally when their fed up of looking at each other and want a drink hehe then its just awaiting for the evening guests to arrive, cut the cake and of course the first dance that we all wait for. I loved Carla & Nathan’s first dance, I always find this is the point where there most chatting to each other, can’t get each of each other type thing. It is just so beautiful to see just how happy they are.
Such a beautiful wedding to photograph, so many laughs 🙂 just perfect.
