Rebecca and Chris’ Wedding at The Woodlands, Hothorpe Hall, Market Harborough
I first met up with Rebecca and Chris way over a year ago when they booked in for a consultation with me, to potentially book me to photograph their wedding day. The consultation was brilliantWhilstand Becky and Chris wanted to book me to be their professional wedding photographer for their special day; I was so excited and couldn’t wait for their wedding.
After some months passed by, we then booked in for their pre-wedding portrait session. It was such a lovely pre-wedding session! As soon as I saw them ready to start the session I couldn’t believe how much weight they had lost. They both looked fantastic. As a joke in the new year, they said yes to going to either weight watchers or slimming world with a friend, well they actually went and stuck at it. They both looked even more beautiful. The pre-wedding session was lovely, some gorgeous photos of them both together, so this made me even more excited for their big day. As always I tell my couples that the time flies when you’re planning a wedding, as soon as you start the time just goes so fast. They never believe me – none of my couples ever do … until the day and they say you were right it has just flown by! Didn’t I tell you??
At the pre-wedding session, this is always one of the times I get to hear about all their wedding plans 🙂 I was excited because Becky and Chris told me they were having a live band … live bands are always better than just a DJ (no offence to anyone), everyone enjoys them so much more because they actually get up and dance. So the morning of the wedding Becky and the girls were getting ready at the venue, Hothorpe Hall in Market Harborough, Leicester. This was the first time photographing at Hothorpe Hall, I had waited so long to photograph a wedding there too, the venue is just stunning. In the morning the girls were very chilled, I’m talking about super chilled, no nerves or anything. Everyone in the room was just enjoying some peace and a drink or two. It’s all good for me, no bridezilla running around! So I got on with the preparation photos. Becky and her mum were doing the cake in the reception room whilst the girls were chilling with a drink and being pampered. The cake did look beautiful though well done to Mother of the bride and Becky for making it.
Preparation photos were almost done after a few hours of getting ready; groom and his groomsmen arrived to get changed, which was lovely because it meant I could grab some photos of the groom getting ready to … after all, it is his wedding day too. This wedding was beautiful, all the guests were just fantastic, lovely people and great to talk to. The whole day was great, no problems at all, everything went smoothly. I guess Becky and Chris were lucky and planned everything properly, not that other couples don’t. Another reason I loved this wedding, the emotion! It was incredible, the bride walked down the aisle, the groom was watching and as soon as they were next to each other they took a look and both in tears … even I started tearing! what are my couples doing to me, I need to be able to see through my lens! It was like the whole family had such an involvement and all was emotional that the day was finally here.
After the ceremony, everyone got a drink, chatted a little etc, we then headed outside – why not it was a beautiful day. They had a beautiful little ice-cream van, though I didn’t want the kids having any because we needed to do group photos though I couldn’t stop them. After the bride and groom finished their ice-cream we gathered everyone around for photos … Whilst we were doing photos, two of the band members – guitarist and singer were playing an acoustic arrangement in the background which just made the atmosphere lovely. Once the group photos were complete everyone heading inside for food. At this point, I got chatting to the band as we were sat together and away from everyone, it’s really nice just to be able to get to know other businesses. During the speeches, emotions were running high, though it wasn’t all crying, there was a lot of laughter too. Generally, after food and speeches, this is downtime, this is when I take my bride and groom away for some time together so they can have some gorgeous portraits of just the two of them. Unfortunately, it did start raining but I’m so glad that didn’t put my couple off from heading outside for photos. We got some gorgeous images of just the two of them, we even headed into the treehouse bridal suite for some photos as it was raining a tad more at that point.
I try not to keep my bride and groom away to long from their guests so shortly after we heading back into everyone and cut the cake. The gorgeous cake that the wonderful bride and her mother made. After the cake was cut and everyone had got their photos it was time to do the first dance as Mr and Mrs; this is by far one of the most lovely first dance’s I’ve ever had the pleasure of photographing. Rebecca and Chris are such a gorgeous and truly in love couple, the dance just showed it even more so everyone could see. I thank Rebecca and Chris so much for letting me be apart of their special day, it was simply beautiful. Congratulations to you both here’s to the future together.
