Staffordshire and Leicestershire Wedding Photographer
What is a pre-wedding photography session?
I have been a wedding and portrait photographer for many years. Portrait and wedding photography has evolved so much over time. It was always an art – but over the years it has transformed so much. Photography has transformed, just like the rest of the world. I love being a wedding and portrait photographer; I get to capture some pretty special moments for people – moments that are frozen in time and become a beautiful memory.
I wish I could freeze every memory possible, but special times like getting engaged are pretty darn good memories to freeze to look back on whenever you feel like it. That’s the pure joy of my job, being a photographer – I get to capture engagements and weddings not just for you but for the whole family and family for generations that haven’t yet entered the world.
Photos are here to last a lifetime, just like the memories – the photographs themselves are equally important. When we look at photographs; not just online or on our phones but when we hold a printed photo – it feels great, a feeling like no other – joy runs through the veins and smiles drawn upon faces.
I find being a photographer such a joyous and important job to have; I love all the wonderful couples, the people, and the families that I get to meet when I am booked for a family portrait photography session or whether it’s a wedding day to capture. I meet so many fantastic people that I am lucky enough to get to capture their special moments.
So what is a pre-wedding portrait photography session?
I’m glad you asked and that you have landed on this page 🙂
When couples see my work and book in to have a consultation with me about being their wedding photographer; every couple has the option of booking a pre-wedding session too. A pre-wedding portrait session is just a portrait session that I usually do about six months before the wedding day, this builds the excitement for every engaged couple. Everyone hates having their photo taken, right? Well, probably ninety percent of the population. I always say that looking through wedding day albums I have of past weddings is great because you get to see full day weddings; however, that isn’t yours. I need to make you guys feel comfortable with having your photo taken before your special day. At your wedding, you’ll be nervous as it is nevermind having professional photos taken.
I usually book pre-wedding sessions for 60-90 minutes at a location outdoors of your choice, somewhere you enjoy taking a walk together. I know that we will be outdoors and others could see but honestly, everybody else is too busy having their family day out. Everybody else wouldn’t even notice you both having your photos taken.
I always find that when I get couples outside in a beautiful country park for portraits, the photos are just gorgeous. Simply stunning, natural, and precious moments. I don’t even need to be close to you both – I can hide and capture beautiful photos without you even knowing. For some couples it’s not about having a preview before the wedding day photos; it’s about just capturing the moments that they hit that milestone of getting engaged. If your wedding day is a few years away and you don’t want to wait to get photos taken, booking in as soon as you get engaged or book your wedding day. It’s great to have something booked in to look forward to.
As you can see, plenty of smiles 🙂
If you would like to book in – please get in touch.
See you soon
